Welcome

When you are near train or tram tracks, keep listening and remember to Stop! Look! Listen! Think! before crossing. Always use level crossings and designated tram crossings to cross tracks.

Make sure you check out our media library to help you in your research about how to stay safe around trains, trams, tracks and level crossings.

Do you cross train or tram tracks with younger kids to get to school? On 15 May 2020, why not teach them how to walk safely across pedestrian level crossings? Find out more at http://www.walk.com.au/WSTSD/

Do you cross train or tram tracks to get to school? On 15 May 2020, practise walking safely across level crossings and teach others how to do it! You can find out more at http://www.walk.com.au/WSTSD/

Our team wishes you a safe and happy holiday. See you next year!

Sharpen your pencils! Check out the ‘Competitions’ tab to find out all the info about our picture book competition. You get to create your very own picture book – if you win, you’ll become a published author!

Did you know we have a comprehensive media library to help with your research on rail safety?

We are challenging Year 7 to 10 students to create an innovative solution to reduce the chances of injuries or fatalities occurring at pedestrian level crossings in our 2017 High Schools STEM Competition.

Prizes include $1200 in vouchers for winning teams, plus teachers, school and a People’s Choice Award. Voting for People’s Choice will be open during Rail Safety Week (14-20 August).

We have issued a challenge to all primary students in Australia to write and illustrate a children’s book using this year’s Rail Safety Week theme: “Rail Safety: It’s Everyone’s Responsibility”.

We have amazing prizes up for grabs: check out the competition page for all the details.

Entries close 5 August 2016.

Happy writing and illustrating, and good luck!
